Mosquito Trapping Updates

Mosquito Surveillance Program Underway in Boardman and Irrigon

We have officially launched our adult mosquito surveillance program for the season. Residents in the Boardman and Irrigon areas may notice mosquito traps placed throughout the region. These traps are set in the late afternoon and collected the following morning.

This program helps us monitor populations of Culex mosquitoes—known carriers of West Nile virus. After collection, each trap is carefully speciated, counted, and processed in our lab before samples are sent to the Oregon State Veterinary Lab for virus testing.

This critical work helps us protect public health and stay ahead of any potential risks. We appreciate your cooperation throughout the season.

May thru September the district places mosquito traps at different locations across the district. Check here every week for a trapping updates shown below.
