Our Services

At the North Morrow Vector Control District, our mission is to protect public health and enhance quality of life by managing mosquito populations and reducing the risk of mosquito-borne diseases. We use an evidence-based, environmentally responsible approach known as Integrated Mosquito Management (IMM) to deliver the following services:

🦟 Mosquito Surveillance

We monitor mosquito populations throughout the district using traps and field inspections. This helps us identify species, track breeding hotspots, and assess the risk of disease transmission.

💧 Larval Control

By targeting mosquitoes in their aquatic larval stage, we reduce populations before they become flying adults. This includes applying biological larvicides and working with property owners to eliminate standing water.

🌾 Adult Mosquito Control

When necessary, we conduct targeted fogging or spraying to reduce adult mosquito populations—especially during peak season or in response to public health threats

🧼 Source Reduction

We educate the public and assist with efforts to remove or treat standing water sources such as irrigation ditches, containers, and neglected pools—key breeding grounds for mosquitoes.

📢 Public Education & Outreach

We provide educational materials, attend community events, and offer presentations to schools and civic groups to raise awareness about mosquito prevention and personal protection.
